Dr. Richelle Martins graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology in 2014. Following that, she then went on to graduate as a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). She has also completed and is certified in Webster Technique and in the McMaster Neurofunctional Acupuncture course. Prior to starting university, Dr. Martins was a competitive dancer. Over the years she has trained in many types of dance including tap, jazz and lyrical. She has had both personal and clinical experience with the typical injuries dancers may have and is very interested in the care of all dancers. She also has a special interest in treating pregnant and post-partum women as well as both infants and children. She has spent the better part of her schooling taking extra courses and seeking out knowledge to better able her to serve these specific populations. While these are areas of interest for Dr. Martins, she is excited to help all those who are in need of therapy. Dr. Martins uses manipulation/mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture and rehabilitation to help her patients increase their function, decrease their pain and improve their quality of life. All of her treatments are carefully chosen for each individual based on the current evidence and their specific needs as determined by a thorough assessment. When Dr. Martins is not treating patients, she likes to spend her free time dancing, staying active both inside and outside and spending time with her family and friends.
