Dr. Martins offers a variety of evidence-based treatment options including manipulation/mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, rehabilitation and education. While she enjoys treating every condition and population, she holds a special interest in the treatment of dance and gymnastic athletes, pregnancy and postpartum care, and in the care of infants and children.

A manipulation, also called an adjustment, is a skilled technique that involves a quick force placed through a targeted joint of the body that will work to decrease pain and stiffness, as well as improve function of the associated area.

Soft Tissue Therapy

Soft tissue therapy involves both a hands on technique and instrumented assisted technique to target muscles and the associate fascia to decrease muscle tension and pain.

Acupuncture uses fine, disposable needles applied to various areas of the body in order to decrease pain and inflammation, improve tissue healing through increased blood flow, and normalize neural control of the surrounding muscles.

Rehabilitation involves a mix of strengthening exercises, stretches and education with the goal of ensuring the patients remain pain free and with optimal function.

Paediatric Care

Babies and children can also experience aches and pains that may benefit from chiropractic treatment. Their treatment would be similar to that of an adult with a major difference being the manual therapy is gentle with much less force.

Pregnancy Care & Webster

Chiropractic care and the Webster technique are both safe and effective in treating pregnancy and postpartum pain. Some of the typical conditions we can help treat are pregnancy-related low back and pelvic pain, round ligament pain and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Dancers & Gymnasts

As a result of their intense training, dancers and gymnasts can experience both chronic/overuse injuries as well as acute/traumatic injuries. Chiropractic care can help with these common aches, pains and injuries through the use of manual therapy and rehab.
